Governor ohm question

I just bought a used cab that has a Eminence Governor loaded in it. How do I tell just by looking at the speaker if it is 8 or 16 ohm? If it is marked on the speaker somewhere I sure can't find it........thanks!

If you have a multi-meter, that'd be the easiest way to know for sure.

I believe if they are NOT marked, they are 16 ohm...but a meter is a sure way to tell.

If my amp is 8ohm would it hurt if the speaker is 16?

Peel back, or lift up, the black rubber magnet cover . The model name, number, and impedance will be on a tag on the magnet by the speaker terminals.
