View Full Version : Learning Pro Tools Le
Hello friends:
We finally got our Pro-Tools rig back up and running! Woohoo! But it has been so long that we are forgetting how to use it. Ha! (that's supreme irony). What are ways that you would suggest learning pro tools LE. A re there any forums you have found helpful? Sites? Tutorials? Books? Thanks!

Check the Digidesign website for both tutorials and a great user conference (discussion forum). Their "store" also has tutorial DVD's, books, etc. The Sweetwater Sound website has a discussion forum for Protools and recording in general. Hope that helps.:cool:

I have PT LE on my old mac, and also on this current one because I transferred everything over. My PCI card is in the old machine, and so is the dedicated harddrive. Thus I'm only able to record on the old machine. It is still sitting in my music room, waiting to be hooked up again. I've totally forgotten how to do anything in PT. It does have a very steep learning curve, and as such, easy to fall off again. :D
Eventually, I am going to get the rig back up and running, though I really need a much bigger monitor like the one I've got on the newer mac. Or I can get an Airport hub and record on the old rig and send it to the new machine for mixing.

Read the manual!

the book "pro tools for musicians and songwriters" by gina fant-saez is a great one. it's geared towards musicians, is clearly layed out, fun to work through, and won't put you to sleep like the manual.

Or...plug in and start recording.
Nothing like on the job training.
that is what we're doing now... but its always nice to have a good resource to learn from as well.
