Anyone know where and for how much I can get a replacement PC board for a Peavey Classic 30?
thanks

are you planning on replacing all the components on the board? that would be quite a daunting task. the c30 board is in 3 pieces folded over. i guess pv's parts department would be the only place to get the boards. do you just have broken traces or did the board break?

I would just repair the board, it's not that big of a deal unless the amp was in flames.

Thanks for all the replies
I "performed" the basic C 30 mods on the Blue Guitar site. The amp worked for a bit, then went from very low to no volume. I've tried several times to fix it, jumpering spots where i felt I'd wrecked the traces, etc. I used a couple orange drops with leads that were too big and messed up the board. I also used a soldering iron that was probably too hot (40 watt) and further fried traces (and maybe some caps). I've tried several times to fix it and am about ready to junk it. The tubes all glow, fuses test good. I was just thinking of pricing a completed new board to see if i could transplant it.

Have you tried contacting Peavey directly? They have sold me parts for a C50 with no problem.

I've repaired a lot of Peavey's over the years and they (Peavey) have always told me that getting entire boards is not possible. They support individual component replacement and provide very good tech support and you can't beat the ladies in the parts department, but getting an entire board (or all three in the case of the Classic 30) is, as far as I know, impossible.
It's possible that your amp isn't yet beyond the ability of a good tech to fix, but it'll probably cost a good chunk of change to do and you better stop trying to "fix" it yourself of the price could go up *a lot* <G>.

i would not want to populate a set of c30 boards. check the jumpers between boards. they are flimsy and can give pretty easily. check all of the molex connectors. get a magnifying glass and check all the traces and solder joints. i have seen some c30's with factory solder joint issues. not a lot but a few. it certainly sounds ike something get messed up when you did the mods. it shouldn't take too long to check everything out. work slowly and methodically. your soldering iron is probably a little too big for the task. try a 25 watt model with a very pointy tip. the traces are very flimsy on the pv classic series and will flake off if you look at them wrong.
