Hi all,
Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys on some new songs from my band on Myspace. They may not be everyone's cup of tea but I wanted to share them because I'm pretty happy with them. These are from the new album we have coming out. Please give them a listen and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Rick

Pretty good, not my type of music, I hear some 80's sound in it as well. Sounds well recorded.

Wow, just one response. :(

I realize that my band's style may be slightly different than the norm here but I was hoping for some feedback on it. Good or bad.

R9player, thanks for your comments. I produced and recorded the whole thing so I'll take your comments as a positive.

I realize that I haven't posted much but I've been a long time lurker. I guess I should post more. Anyway, please give the tunes a listen and let me know how you feel. Fans of Bloc Party, Foo Fighters and The Police might dig this.

Thanks.

I thought they are really good and the guitar parts were fantastic , the 3 tunes with guitar intros all just drew you right in with great parts and tone and sonicaly the recordings are excellent, but what really sells them to me is the songwriting and cohesiveness of the tunes as a whole, best of luck with this, I would buy it....as far as low response, just keep posting you will get feedback, there is a lot of traffic on this page and trying to listen to everything takes some time so I think people gravitate to the names and music they know, or gear clips they are interested in, I know I try to listen to everything but I just don't have the time. Glad I found the time for your music though........

Sounds cool. Has a king crimson vibe, to me anyway. Interesting music!

Hey, I dig your tunes. Your influences are noticeble in a good way (and some of my all time faves). I too like the whole songs , the guitar is an important part but the vibe and feel are evident here (not just guitar songs) . Good luck with your album man.:AOK

Wow, I like it! I love the agressive guitar parts. Very cool U2-ish vibe in other parts.

First the negative - IMHO, the double tracked vocals are distracting, the bass is too quiet overall, the drums sound distant. In otherwords, I didn't love the production.

Now the positive - I thought the playing was good and I enjoyed the songs quite a bit, very interesting, something old something new. Nice work!

Thanks for all the feedback. :dude

agreatheight, I appreciate your critique and agree with some of it. I am a fan of doubled vocals (a la Sabbath)and partly because of my insecurities as a vocalist. I try not to use it on everything but I like it on the heavier tunes. I agree it's not for everyone.

Bass may seem low due to the internet and bit compression but it sounds pretty loud on my home and car systems. That's the hard part about mixing-making it sound great on every stereo.

Drums were recorded in a very "live" room and it was very hard to dry them up. Besides all the tunes (minus vocals, keys and some 2nd guitar) were recorded in one room live as one whole take. That includes warts and all. The drummer prefers a more roomy tone like Bonham so I could see you saying that they sound distant.

Thanks for taking the time to really give them a shot, even if you didn't love everything. That's the beauty of music. I'm off to listen to other soundfiles on here.

Not my cup o' tea either, but good, interesting guitar work. Good recording/producing job. The music definitely has a "fresh" or modern vibe.

Dig the crystalline gtr tone 'Had I Met You'. What is/was your set up on that cut (Guitar, Amp, etc)?
