I have an RC but haven't started using it yet. I'm having to play this weekend with no amp, just a few pedals running direct to a board in the back balcony. I was thinking I'de set up a few pedals for basically unity gain and then put the RC dead last and crank it to get the signal hot enough to the board; basically using it as a preamp pedal. Will this work ok? Anyone with experience running the RC last - any tips? Thx.

If you do a search of "rc booster" in this forum you will find people have had fantastic results with the RC picking up the rear. Enjoy!

Yeah, yeah, I know the drill buddy! Problem is these 2 and 3 letter words don't search, or should I say hunt. "RC" no go. Guess I can just get my "Boost" on.

i use it almost last (after my distortions) to give an always-on boost and a little grit. It's awesome like that, and I'm thinkin of throwing it dead-last now.

I guess my main concern is after my DD20? Still ok? Fixing to experiment.

I run my RC after all other pedals for my clean boost, work's fine to me.

just don't distort your repeats. . . unless you want to.
i say dead last. . . BEFORE modulation, delay, etc.
so not really dead last.
dead last dirt.

I figured ;) But if you search "rc booster" quotes and everything it will work. :) Give er a try.
EDIT: Sorry...Im really not trying to sound like a jerk here...I just know that many people dont know about the quotes thing for searching phrases. Works great for "RC booster" or "BB Preamp" etc.

Dead last here...I use it mostly as a boost, so after delays works for me.

I put it pretty much dead last. Not literally dead last, as there's a Decimator (noise gate) after it, but pretty much dead last.
Also, on the occasions when I go stereo, the Chopper goes literally last, but the RC goes after all other dirt pedals, and after all the modulation pedals.
That's the perfect spot for it.

I run it dead last. Depending on some unknown factor, I either use it just for a boost or leave it on all the time.

I run it dead last too. The fact that I like fuzzes up front means that the RC has no place else to go for me, as I don't like anything in front of the fuzzes. I mostly use it as a boost.

Very last pedal....of course most of the time it is the only pedal so it is the very first as well:D. If I do run another pedal it is a my Mojo vibe and I have found that I like it before the RC as well. When I was running dirt pedals before the RC I liked it last. I love the way it reacts to the amp and not so much before anything else. I have now taken to running the gain and level maxed and cutting the treble to about 11:00 and the bass to about 9:00. At first this seemed counter intuitive but I saw Hendersons RC set this way so I tried it and now it is more of a slight dirt box then a clean boost per se. But the dirt I have coming out of it cleans up real well witht the volume knob.
"Dead last" in the chain to boost the signal for the long cable run ... Gain on 0, volume at 1 o'clock, Treble and Bass at noon (flat). On all the time.

Any librarian worth his stuff would know that. ;)

One thing to watch out for is that the RC Boost does have a level threshold above which, things do compress a bit. I like that for a pre-gain pedal, though.
I place my RC booster juz after all my drive pedals but before my effects..
Went into the mixer straight.. i got great results for certain overdrive like timmy but my crunch box sounded super thin :D I think it really depends on what other overdrives u have and how amp like they sound. :D

I use it last as well. I have the volume at maybe 1:00-2:00 for solo boost and usually I have the gain at about 10:00 for a bit extra. Tone controls vary with the surroundings. It's so quiet that I use it after my Decimator, and it pushes my Maz into such a good place that I'm seriously considering selling my Tone Pump and Crunch Box since I'm not a high gain guy anyway.
