A while ago I saw Brett Garsed play and he was using a ESP Horizon. He even let me play it a bit, but I really did not have the time to really try it out. Anyway, I recently did a search on these and found out that these are in the Suhr/Tyler price range. The web site really gives me almost no info on the specs. Anyone have one that they would like give a brief review on to help me and the others out? Thanks in advance......:D
I have a 2006 custom Horizon. I don't think the quality of the fretwork, finish, etc. is quite up to the Suhr/Tyler standard (I own several Suhrs currently). Mine had some slightly uneven frets, which may have settled during the long trip from Japan or something, but it's still something you don't expect for a guitar that's around 3K. However, the guitar sounds very good. I didn't care for the Duncan pickups in this guitar and currently have some Dimarzio models in the guitar. It's a fairly bright guitar. I'm not sure if it's the long maple neck through design, the ebony fretboard, or a combination of things. I think the price might be pretty high on these because of taxes/tariffs or something. They aren't very easy to find used, but if you can find one used (edit) the price is usually dramatically lower than a new model. I bought mine still new but the dealer had it in stock for a while - it was 2K which is a little more tolerable.

I have a used early 90's ash model. Neck is fast frets are large and the stock neck pickup sounds good. I have an evo in the bridge which sounds great. I scored mine for $450 shipped. I don't know much about new ones except that they are overpriced. I can't imagine anyone paying $3000 for an esp when there are so many impeccable guitars in that price range.

Ive played Bretts ESP, its really nice. Has a laquered neck, big frets, interesting pickups too, not overly hot, really vintagy sounding. Neck is not small either. His actual Horizon is very different from the normal Horizon, you could buy his sig Horizon, its good, and theres an expensive one and a cheaper one too.

I've owned several Horizons from the $300 ltd up to a 90's custom.. I've found them all to be very nice players. I would always recommend a setup and fret dress on the inexpensive ones... but overall great playing guitars.. I have my eye on the Page Hamilton Custom.

There are many Versions and the Neck through ebony fret board mahogany body arch top with OFR and Duncan's is the best one .A great guitar as are most ESP's give LTD's a wide berth though.
