Not a huge fan of the spider line. That's one of the low-end amps from L6 and it is priced that way for a reason honestly. I wouldn't take it unless it's for a beginner, and even then I would spend the money on a Roland Cube combo. :o

Context means a lot. What are you looking for that made you think this might be worth buying?

The 75 HD if I'm not mistaken, allows you to store only 4 presets if I remember correctly, as opposed to the 150-watt head, which allows you to store more than that.
The price is real good on that gear. I'm not going to comment on the tone as I've never tried a Spider, but really liked the Duoverb I owned.

in general, yes. For writing or some recording, not as much.

I used a Spider II 75 watt combo for a couple of years. Not because I didn't have better amps but becuase it was easy to use and had multiple sounds available for the cover band stuff I was doing.
Is it $200 for the head and the cab? if so, I say get it. It will be plenty loud and you can dial in some decent sounds.

I had one of those 1x12 75watt combos too and thought it was surprisingly good. Especially when there were being discontinued for $199 a few months back.

A Sonic 412 and a spider head, that is a good price, even though I don't care for line 6 spider I's....

I had one of the first Spiders on the market years ago. It sounded OK in the bedroom, but on a gig it sounded like an oversized transistor radio with a blown speaker. I had a 50 watt 1X12 version, and it lacked headroom for most gigs. I've heard a couple of the newer higher watt spiders, and they basically sound like crap to me. But I've been spoiled by a few nice tube amps in the last few years. The best solid state amp I've ever heard is my Roland Cube60. This amp will rival some tube amps that cost 2-3 times as much.
