Anybody had both of these? I'm really looking for a simple good sounding pedal that I can kick in for leads. I've tried the Duncan and like it but the rhythym side doesn't pack a whole lot of punch. They're about the same price but I've never actually played the Zvex. Anybody? Opinions welcome pros and cons of both. Thanks gang!!!!

Two different animals. The Dunlop gives you smooth violin leads, the first channel could use a little grit. Box of Rocks is more of a cranked Marshall sound, rough around the edges...but that is its charm.

I would recommend the MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe for lead work. Very smooth, compressed yet articulate pedal. Hardly a bad sound in it !

Oops. I hadn't realized that I put an S on the end. I guess that kind of transforms the mystique of a killer Marshall amp dimed unto ecstacy right into the arena of just another dumb-ass distortion pedal. The difference that one little letter can make.
My bad. :jo
Thank you for the correction. Good form sir, good form.

Well, you are indicating for leads. I love a smooth gain lead pedal and the SFX-03 does that great for me. I think the rhythm side is best for country grit to me. I like a Fuzz Face, Huckleberry (or these stacked) for the gritty crunch sound.

I don't use my BoR for leads but stack a lead pedal into it such as a TMB or Fuzz Factory. My other favorite lead pedal is teh Keeley TS-9DX Flexi
