All,

Well, today I went up to Solidbodyguitar.com in Mounds View, MN, and spent quite a bit of time trying the Eventide TimeFactor delay pedal.
Man, this pedal sounds HUGE! Best delay pedal I've ever heard, hands down.

They had it running in stereo through Cornford RK100 and MK50 half stacks. What a MASSIVE sound with the Eventide and these amps!

The pedal has many types of Delay available, and you can control various parameters for each type, and set up 27 presets. The Tap Tempo works very well, and the pedal does not hurt your tone, but is true bypass. The "Tape" delay is very convincing.

If you like Delay, check one of these bad boys out! www.eventidestompboxes.com (http://www.eventidestompboxes.com).

Anyone here tried one yet? What did you think?

So...did you buy it? Did they happen to mention how many they had in stock?

2 x 4/12" with good amps will make many stereo delays sound huge;)

I'm debating on getting the nova reverb or a soldano space box, so can you fill me in on if there is any tone-sucking? is it buffered or tbp?

I did not buy it, as it's the store demo unit, and they have four on order, with two spoken for already. I think the price point is in the $400 - $450 range at the store. I'm working on how I can afford one when they arrive in a month or so.

I cannot stress enough how HUGE this delay sounds! It will give you instant Pink Floyd/David Gilmour delay. There is NO TONE SUCK, and it's
True Bypass, according to the Eventide on-line brochure (PDF).

Of course, the Cornford RK100/MK50 stereo rig sounds MASSIVE together!
The RK100 is one of the best amps I've heard in over 35 years of playing guitar. One of the transformers in it is HUGE, and HEAVY.

I use a stereo Boogie (Studio Pre/Simul 2:90) rig, so the Timefactor would sound HUGE with my rig. Right now I use a Boss Giga Delay, which sounds
very good, but I think the Eventide would sound so much bigger. It gives you such a lush delay that you can swim in.

Eventide has done a good job to warm up this unit, and the Tape setting is good, with variable parameters you can adjust for "Depth" (low end), "Tape Hiss", "Flutter", etc...there is so much more capabilities with this pedal, and the learning curve will be big, but you can get a great sound from it pretty quick.

Basically, I think it's like having an Eventide rack delay in a pedal. Not bad for the price!

Thank You! That's the kind of talk I've been hoping to hear. I've been thinking all along the pedal ought to be like an Eventide rack sonically and quality-wise. But, streamlined, simplified, and downsized for rack phobic guitarists. Mine is on order at Sweetwater.com!

Mine arrived yesterday, I played it quite a bit on the tape echo setting, it sounds really good. I'm not really into all that faux warble and tape hiss but it does a good impression, I just turn those settings to zero. It is definitely very well built. I don't know if it will be able to replace my trusty old Rocktron Intellifex at this point, I need to spend some more time with it.

Great report! I'm on the list at Sweetwater - number 4 or 5 - and am starting to get all bloated with GAS!

Well, I just bought a dd-20 from another forumite that will likely be here at the end of the week. Keep an eye out for it in the emporium soon after I receive my Eventide from RMC audio out of Knoxville. I wasn't really planning on picking one of these up just yet but I requested a quote from their site and got a reply within the hour quoting $350 with delivery within 14 days! So I saved a bit, and they'll be shipping mine as soon as the order arrives, which they expect this week. Check it out- http://www.rmcaudio.com/eventide/timefactor.htm
Best price I've found if you don't mind a slight delay (heh heh).

Good one: when telling "delay humor", it's all about the timing!
