Anybody have any suggestions for an all solid wood cutaway Classical or Flamenco guitar that sells for under $2K preferably with electronics? Looking for tone over cosmetics and I don't want it made in Indonesia, China, or Korea no matter WHO the builder/designer is (those should cost $600). Thanks in advance.

At that price range you're looking at mostly factory made guitars. In that price range you can easily find any of the Taylor nylon guitars on Ebay and elsewhere in new or mint condition. If you really need the electronics, don't worry about solid back/sides. I guarantee you'll never hear the difference plugged in, and likely won't hear it unplugged either. The difference that solid wood vs. laminated back/sides make will be completely covered up by the pickup and amp settings. If you plan on playing plugged in a lot, look at Takamine, Godin, etc. Also, many high-end builders are recognizing the stability advantages of laminated backs/sides and starting to use them, and many will say they haven't detected a change in their sound. Don't worry about if it's solid or not, just buy one that sounds good. There are many great sounding laminated guitars out there.

I didn't specify but, I have no problem at all purchasing used so I would think guitars that sell for up to $3K can be considered. Thanks for the suggestions so far. I had 2 all solid wood nylons so far and would't want to go backwards though. Sides could be laminate but back and top must be solid.

See www.mangore.com (http://www.mangore.com)/contrera.html Bellucci classical guitars. I have a classical from them. My luthier says I stole it at $1550 US including HSC and shipping from Argentina.Totaly cool transaction. It made my old Ramirez feel like a knock off. Seriously good Guitars, way under the radar. Good Luck!
