Has anybody here played one of these. They're typically 32" scale.
I love Rick's craftmanship and what he did with basses when he was with Alembic.

Played one of the originals, back in the 80's. It was used, hanging at a local shop. I could have (and probably should have) snagged it for $400 at the time.

It played effortlessly, and the active filters (similar to the Alembic scheme) were very sensitive. Wood and craftsmanship were phenomenal as well. The only thing I didn't like was the neck, which was rather small and flatish, and the main reason I didn't buy it.

This one is an featherweight. It's about 6.5 lbs.
It sounds like a P-Bass on steroids.
Also is peizo equipped and can get crispy if needed.
There is a pull pot that features Humbucker or Single Coil configurations.
Yes it is 32in. scale and has a very nice low E string.
What I like about it is that it can also be very Upright sounding too!
Very versitale Bass.

I love the Rick Turner Model 1 guitar and bass. I've never played a Model 1 Bass, but imagine it would sound amazing.

What I want is a Model 1 Baritone. :)

I have a Renaissance Electoline EL-535 with two magnetic and five piezo pickups. Rick Turner has created something very special with this bass. Blending the two types of pickups produces a tone that sounds organic when recorded directly. It is also a pleasure to play with a highly contoured body and flat oval neck. It also hangs nicely on a strap.
