Does anyone play country music on their Junior 90? I love the look of both the guitar and the staple pick-ups, but not sure if it would work with the stuff I'm doing these days.

It's thick but you can do it. Basically, if you can get the country tone on a LP special/Junior type, then you wouldn't have a problem with this. I can do it, little eq on the amp. There's a bit more sizzle than a typical junior type guitar. The trem version might be better for it. But it's not a problem for me.

But it's not a problem for me.I played a little Cowboy action on one at the Thorn event during NAMM weekend last Jan. I think I may have even played Big Mike's Jr-90. Very very nice guitars.

I agree with Mike - it's a little thicker than a Tele, but no problem. It doesn't sound like a traditional Tele, it sounds like a lean double cutaway LP Special. Mark (Vivagold) used one this spring with Shelby Lynne, as I recall. Sounded pretty dang good too, as I recall (GRIN). The 'operator' may have had a little sumpthin to do with that ....

Yeah, between you and mark...I wonder why I even pick up a guitar anymore. LOLOL

Don't think you played mine, it was built 2 runs later I think. I'll have it at the amp show though, so Ron doesn't have to demo the brand new ones.

Going to try my hand at video clip this weekend.

Going to try my hand at video clip this weekend. That's right, you got your's later. I played several the the Thorn event, and the vibrato model sustained for days and days. I wrote a post on TGP right after that saying that the JR 90 sounded like it had a compressor built in 'cuz when I played it hard - it sustained even more!

For the record, Mike's being real modest here - he plays real well sez me! I still have to find a way to record clips - maybe I'll try my camera, like Fatback does - it sure works for him!

It's be a shame if Ron brought a new one to the amp show. If I played it, I might scratch it - then I'd have to BUY IT!

You should have played mine (or did you?) Dana! Mine was in the first batch, the hardtail brazilian burst. OMG sustain that has to be heard! Between the solid chunk of brass used for the bridge or that big slab of limba it has some serious mojo going on! Best "production" guitar ever. :BEER
