Menatone KOTB: Dirty Cleans

I had to post this after spending about 3 hours this afternoon with just my LP and KOTB. I have been in love with this thing since I got it, but I've never really spent all that much time with the lower gain sounds.

Today I played the whole time with the gain at about 9:00 and the voicing switch set to the plexi bass input. Man oh man this thing feels like an amp and the dirty cleans are simply awesome---especially when I dig in.

Anyway, one more great thing about this truly excellent pedal.

Yep. With Brian's pedals, you don't need to go and crank the gain full like with a lot of others. The great sounds in them are usually with the gain backed off a good ways. I found that with my KOTB like you did. It was when I backed the gain off that it really brought it to it's full potential.

Try it with Workingman's Blue. Even "better."
Then hit 'em with their internal boosts, or external boxes like MK II, Treble booster, even zendrive.
Heaven.

I just got one of these also, and I love it. I haven't had much tiem to experiment with it yet, but love what I've heard so far. I'll be gigging with it a couple of times next weekend, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do.

My KOTB just arrived I havent played it yet but I put a battery in to see if it works and the LEDs are bright. The blue one nearly blinded me! :worried

You have to get a new Howie if you haven't already, and I have to get a KOTB. I gigged 2x this weekend with my Texaverb and the Howie. Amazing pedal (and amp).
