Anyone used this? I have heard nothing but good things about Weber everything so I am thinking about going that route instead of buying a THD. I don't want to make this a whats your favorite thread, but if no experience on the Weber can you please enlighten me with your attenuating knowledge?
thanks!

I think you mean Mini MASS (not Max). The MASS attenuators use an actual speaker motor to absorb the energy that would otherwise go to the speaker. That results in a load on the amp that is the same as if an actual speaker were being driven rather than a resistor. Whether that is actually beneficial is, IMO, subjective. But certainly many people have bought a Weber MASS attenuator and been very happy with it. Some people may not have been so pleased; like I said, it is subjective.

I'm a happy MASS user.

I have the Mass Lite, which I use on a SF DR. It does affect the tone at extreme levels of attenuation, but at moderate levels it's pretty good. Separate attenuators for low and high freqs helps a lot. A plus is the direct out for plugging into a PA.
