I have a DeTemple sweetspot pickup assembly with a bad volume pot. Please advise. DeTemple hasn't. Give me a fine quality 250K(?) replacement suggestion and I will be much obliged.

You could try to RS pot. Its about $15. They are supposed to have a very smooth taper such that your pot has a gradual taper from 10 to 1. Some of the cts pots I used are very bad where the volume is almost gone after turning down from 10 to 7.
And there was another thread where some other mention that cts quality has gone down the drain.

The RS pot is the finest I've ever used in 45+ years of playing either the 250 or 500 works great..you can turn your volume down and not lose tone and you don't have to put a picofarad cap on your volume pot..worth every penny and they are great people to deal with...

The RS stuff is CTS with added fairy dust and $$$.

I am using the RS pots... they don't have an even taper all the way from 1 to 10.
Its still like the CTS pot, 1-7 gradual, then 7 - 10 a jump.
However, in between those 2 tapers, its very smooth and very usable.
I don't know about the tone change in the pot... but I do know the taper works and that its got this nice, sturdy brass shaft - no more shaky shafts.

If that's the case, it would seem like its just a normal CTS pot. Perhaps its just marketing.
Ironically I've used cheap Alpha brand pots I bought from reverend and found them to be quite good. Although not perfect, the taper was quite gradual. Only $2.50 each.

Well, like I mentioned, CTS vs RS - the tapers are similar generally.
There is a still a difference in that, the RS still has a much smoother taper... 1 - 7 is smoother, more gradual. 7 - 10 has a faster taper, but still smoother than the CTS.
I like the brass shaft thing... really feels nicer when doing volume swells and stuff - its really a small thing though, just that I like it.
Whether its much better made or what... I dunno. I only play the thing. :D

News flash
RS just put CTS pots in a bag with RS on it !!!!!!!!
I'm not saying that RS is bad they are not they are excellent but you can buy the exact same stuff cheaper.
