Anyone familiar with Bellucci Guitars?
Just found their web site: http://www.mangore.com/bellucci_guitars.html
Great info, poke around and learn about the different tone woods, construction, radiused or flat fingerboards.
I like the Bolivain Rosewood with Italian Spruce top.
Great price for a quality built Classical guitar, direct from Argentina--has anyone purchased online?

Also, the sister-site http://www.mangore.com (http://www.mangore.com/) is a good resource for learning, with tips and videos.

Who here plays Classical?
Is there something better you'd recommend in the same price range as the Bellucci available in the States?

great website. I'm ready! A double top would be soooo cool. And I like radiused boards.

I like the Antonio Aparicio's that I've played very much, everywhere from $800 student guitars to $5K concert instruments.

I'm not sure I could hang with a radiused classical fingerboard, myself....

And honestly - I would never buy a classical I couldn't play first. Way, way too much variation from guitar to guitar, even from the same builder & same woods.

Keep the info coming, thanks!

Anyone go to Berkeley, CA to check out these Montalvo Classical Guitars:

http://www.berkeleymusic.com/classical2.html

Many different models to choice, including a less expensive student model.

BTW: I see vintage Martin and vintage Gibson nylon string guitars pop up now and again, and at decent prices for vintage pieces with famous names. I realize these are not "serious" Classical instruments, but for a student would they be more than decent?

What's your budget? As a diehard classical player and builder, your budget will really help narrow down the best choices in your price range. I've never played the brands you mention, however I do remember a discussion in this group about Mangore guitars, and it was not pretty. There are many reliable great sounding guitars in that same price range.

In general I'd avoid Martin or Gibson classicals not because they're bad, but because you could get way more guitar for the money without their name, especially in the classical world. Part of the reason they're priced so low is because they aren't what most classical players want in a guitar.

Cheers!
