Alright...straight from "The Gig from HELL*", it's my new Carol Ann OD-2.

Les Paul-20' cord-touch of delay. no verb, or boost or OD pedals. Third set.

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/abaylor/tonetelevision/Carol%20Ann%20Demo.MP3

I did this using a Zoom H-4 behind the PA stacks, in front of my rig...so it's WAY off balance. But you can get an idea how well it cuts.

I'll do real clips soon. I promise.

*Blown 18's...late start...no crowd...newspaper said SATURDAY NIGHT!!! Took a $300 hit against our total...

Excellent tone Andy if I can indulge to say so myself. OD2100 and Les Paul are my favourite combo.

I believe the clips done live complete with warts and no BS are the absolute best way to hear how an amp sits in a real life band situation short of playing it live yourself. These amps are made to be played out and played hard and I'm always happy when one goes to a live player.

I think for your playing, the voicing and gain levels pretty close. Shock, horror, no Robben tones.....LOL !! Good on ya mate, it sounds like you.

Just move up to the 12L's to get the absolute ultimate out of that amp.......the Lead 80's sound well though, my second choice.

The recommended plec (pick) to use with the OD2 is a Dunlop Jazz III. Any other voids the warranty. :crazy

Thanks Hottub!

That would be an Avatar premiere 2x12 cab with Celestion 80 watt speakers. (Black tolex and grill. None more blacker. I believe it helps the sound)

It's a super small rig for the volume produced.

LOL!!

Yeah...I'm using a 3mm Dunlop Big Stubby...the impedence of both plectrums.(3mm) insures safety for the amp and player.

Thanks for the compliments Alan! You have produced a truly amazing amplifier. Very inspiring to play. It's a wonderful feeling knowing your tone is cutting through and being heard.

And man...that thing can get loud if you want it to. More on that later.

And thanks to everyone else who has posted so far-Lucid-Bluesmain-trisonic, and Tommy C. Thanks very much! You guys rock. AB

Hey Andy,

As usual.....VERY well done! I like the fact that its in a live context- where this amp will be primarily used by myself....Alan- any idea on the wait? (I pre paid back in July) I certainly would rather leave you to building amps then bothering with this stuff....but I can't help myself after hearing these clips!!!:BEER The suspense is KILLING me!!!!!! I might be interested in a 2x12 cab as well!!!

Andy- when do we get to hear you sing????

Is this amp anything like the Marshall Vintage Modern tone-wise?

The clips are fantastic. GAS is happening.

Thanks Man!

It seems a LOT more open than the VM I played. I swear I can hear/feel point to point vs PCB. The Marshall sounded great with a 4x12...but point to point is so much more open sounding to me.

That being said, I recieved a pick up blues gig for Saturday Night, and I've been dialing in the lower gain tones. It sings and sustains...and responds well to dynamic picking.

I plan on doing clips of this gig as well. Hopefully video will happen too.
