Nick~I honestly don't know where to begin...but I'll start with THANK YOU! The fantastic SRV guitar you made for me was waiting for me at the apartment complex office today after I got off work, and I must say neither: impressed, amazed, enthusiastic, excited, awed, or fascinated begin to describe how I feel. Though I knew from the get go it would take @ 4 mos. to create (which seemed like forever!), now I know why and it was worth every day of wating. I immediately plugged it into my rig when I got home and TRULY regretted that I live in an apartment as it was just begging to be turned up to "11". However, the sound truly sets the standard for the classic tone that I so enjoy. Thank you, thank you, thank you! With the incredible quality product you sent me as a testimony to your luthier abiliity, I have no doubt that your new amp line will be equally if not more of a hit. God Bless,CJ

One of the most important forum etiqutte (sp?) of TGP is to post pics whenever you want to share with us your new or newly acquired guitars.

You'll get brutally ignored or bashed with a post like this but no pics.:nono

I think it's what my dad called "kidding on the square". Here's how it works:

1. Someone earlier in the thread "officially declared it worthless without pictures".

2. I jump on that and call it "officially SPAM." See? Kinda half joking and half serious. It's kidding...but it's half serious too.

Uh...who exactly said that their opinions are gospel? Dude--you're reading waaaay too much into my post. That being said, I am a moderator here and it's my responsibility to enforce the rules--and this fellow started off by breaking at least one (cross-posting). I have no opinion whatsoever on this guitar company; I know nothing about their guitars.

And who's living in a glass house? What glass house would that be? It's easy to throw accusations around. Let's hear you back 'em up. I used all kinds of gear and the stuff I talk about most is old stuff that isn't even made anymore (Ampegs, Magnatones, old Gibson amps)...so who am I shilling for?

Yeah, uh, maybe being the operative word. If Jonah has a guitar he likes, why isn't he posting his the signature on the quote? Jonah who are you in relation to CJ? And I wonder who the person with the username JCH15 is over at Harmony-Central who does the same kind of kamikaze marketing run over there (comes in, first post--drops a link to the the same company's site and then disappears).

Hey guys. I was reading this post, as I had listed a simliar thread a couple weeks back.

I'm not trying to step on toes, but I do want to come to the defense of Rocketfire. I've known Nick, the owner and builder, for about a year and a half. He's one of the most honest and genuine people I know. I can tell you without a doubt that he does NOT plug his own company, nor does he spam to get his name out. I know because I've tried to get him to advertise more. But he stands on word of mouth only.

I do understand the Jonah-CJ thing is kinda weird, but I can tell you with confidence that it's not Nick behind it plugging his business.

That said, I will concur that Rocketfire Guitars are far superior to anything that FMUC puts out. Hands down. The quality and hand-built craftsmanship are second to none.

I was just pointing out that this type of shameless promotion goes on in hundreds of threads on the forum that are never "flagged". Most are not "spam"? I don't have to own a guitar to rave about the builder do I? Do I have to have pictures?

Also, I was not referring to you specifically. I'm referring to an overall snobbery that I see on display regularly. Opinions are worth what you pay for them. To assign a hierarchy to anyone's opinion w/ regard to tone or playablility is foolish. The cross posting problem might have been due to ignorance. A PM to the author should suffice. :D
