Ahhh yes here is the scoop. I have a @$200 bones to spend on a new pedal. Looking for a nice OD to take on the go instead of lugging my board around to and fro practice. I've never had a AM pedal so I am new to the product but hear good things. I would be looking for something similar(but diffrent; ))to my main stay OD pedal on my board a T.C Jauernig double DGTM. So something with a OD and a boost would be cool. I like organic OD and sometimes like a nice thick OD as well with some chunk. Thanks in advance for any help!

IT doesnt have a separate boost but the Analogman Silver TS is real nice.

i love my ts9/silver. definitely covers what I would consider to be organic od. I don't think you could get a boost as well for 2 bills.

analogman makes great mods....if u want something with some extra hair on it and can clean up in lower settings try the Maxon Sonic Distortion....great pedal.....just blew my crunch box off the board...

I know not analogman, but the ZVex Box of Rock seems to fit your description exactly, and at the right price.

The Beano boost will change your life if you have something Marshallish.

KOT, but you'll have to get on the list and wait a year or two unless you want to buy a used one at about double the regular price.

I have a mint TS9 w/AM silver mod that I'm thinking about posting up for sale if you're interested. I have an SD-1 w/AM silver mod as well that I like more and don't need both of them. I'd let 'er go for $145 shipped/paypal'd. Send me a PM if you're interested and save $50. Thanks!

AM recommends the OD9 w/silver mod (also get the KWS option) as nice waiting pedal while on the KOT list. I have to agree.

I've owned a TS9 silver, and sold it... my od/boost is now a Korg OD105. I think you'll pay about $20 for it... so you can save your cash. It's a little unpredictable at times (you get tons of feedback at high gain), but it's programmable and there is some compression for a nice chugga sound.

The silver-mod TS-9 is a nice, almost classy-sounding, screamer. It keeps the balls that a lot of boutique screamers lose. Mine's gotten pretty much constant use on one of my boards for the past two and a half years.

His Boss SD-1/808 Silver ;^) Very nice!
+1
The SD-1 and Tube Screamer share something like 98% the same circuit, only the SD-1 has a more reliable switch and asymetric clipping which I prefer (although Analogman can, and recommends, making the pedal symetric just like the TS).

I wish I had the money for a King of tone - it looks like the coolest pedal.

The DGTM is a TS, so unless you want to have two TSs then opt for something else. His modded TS9s and SD1s are top notch though, so if you want one get a silver modded one.
I think a Beano is a great option. I love mine!!! :)

First of all, yes... The king of tone is about the coolest pedal for transparent drive, but I still use a few other flavors just as much (MI audio blue boy deluxe, freakshow brown rabbit).
Also, that analogman modded SD-1 might be something cool to check out. I recently read on his site that he does a push/pull mod on one of the knobs to switch between stock asymmetrical clipping to Ibanez style symmetrical clipping. Sounds like the best of both worlds and it's only 25$ more.
Check it out

I have a non master volume Marshall. It's a 18 watt model 1974x and it sounds great all by it's lonesome. With the Beano it's the bluesiest on the neck pick up of my strat vol rolled back a bit. On the bridge pu it is the sound of early heavy rock, very focused, not flabby or mushy. In much the same way that a Klon marries up with a black faced Fender amp I think the Beano does the same with my Marshall. It leaves the tone control on my guitar near my fingers not on the ground. It's like another gain stage for my amp. I have my amp on 8 so it's dirty already.

The silver mod is sounding cool...but then there is the SD-1...hmmmm. Does he make some sort of clean boost as well??? Looking around I found the Zvex Box of Rock. That thing looks pretty wicked!

Analog man does the SD-1 with the silver mod.. with both kinds of clipping... input that into your machine and fax it.
