i have a 77 princeton reverb. it doesn't have the pull boost.
is this still the same circuit as the blackface PR?
if not, what can i do to make it the blackface circuit.
are there any other mods for PRs? i've heard about phase inverter mods and what not. could someone explain those?

Same circuit as blackface except for power transformer and rectifier tube type and with the possible exception of caps connected to pin 5 of the power tubes.

Google "Stokes mod" and "Paul c mod" for common PI mods to these amps.

I had the "stokes mod" performed on my '64 PR and it gave a lot more clean headroom and made the amp useable for blues jams. I would most definiitely recommend the stokes mod! Great thing about the Stokes mod is that it involves changing the connection on only one wire, and is easily reversable if you don't like it or want to bring the amp back to "stock" when selling it.

Here is some Princeton reverb MOD info I found online while back:

stokes mod: http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/mt24/Amp/mm/PRtweak.html

and here is something I (just) found about removing the pull-boost:

"Paul C" mod (I never tried this one):
