How to Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great, The Electric Guitar Owner's Manual by Dan Erlewine.

The Dan Erlwine book is really superb.
There's a dvd made by a guy here in the UK called Dr Robert.
That's a great beginner's set up tutorial too.
There's nothing to basic set up and it's very satisfying to set your own guitars just the way you like them. :dude

ProjectGuitar.com has a ton of useful info and tutorials.
There are a lot of 13 year olds that should have their computers taken away too.

Anybody have a first-hand opinion on the repair/setup video by Tracy Longo ? I've never seen that one. I got a ton of Erlewine videos. They are great too, except the ones where Jorma Kaukonen shows up with the same routine can drive you nuts after seeing it a few times.

Guitar electronics for musicians by Donald Brosnac.
Both of the above books will teach you a lot very fast.
