hi Suhr fans, and maybe John Suhr,
i am in the midst spec-ing out a custom built (non-Suhr) guitar, and am thinking of 3 lollar P90s with a 5 way switch and a fender vintage trem.
i'm wondering if the aftermarket SSC backplate system will work with 3 regular passive P90 pickups? Does the middle have to be RWRP or not?
thanks!

A good question for John or Ed at Suhr, who are amazing at customer service. All three pickups need to be the same polarity; I believe it's mostly a question of how hot the Lollars are wound. Still, better to get the real answer from the guys in the know.-Eric

I think they make a different BPSSC for P-90s, a strat one wouldnt work.
But I could be entirely 100% wrong.

Sorry, the current and only BPSSC version we have won't work properly with P90 or similar pickups. The DC resistance is too high on these pickups and the BPSSC won't effectively cancel out most of the noise.
We do have the internal SSC coil version for Tele pickups and P90 pickups to install inside the bodies of our guitars, but not the BPSSC. It's a demand and logistics issue and it doesn't make sense for us to offer a P90 and Tele pickup versions of the BPSSC at this point in time.
Ed, how well does the built-in SSC for P90s work? I love P90 tone but the noise is killing me lately.

So, if I'm reading this right, one could order a Suhr with, say 3 P90's and get it with the internal SSC? If so, that's possibly bad news...for my wallet :D
