Greetings gear people,
This is a bit late as I've made a few posts already, and to be honest like (I suspect) many before me, I've only just noticed the introductions page, having dived headlong into the guitars, amps and sound hound lounges some weeks ago.
Current gear, in chronological order of purchase, looks like this:
Ibanez Artist AR100NT (1980 ... tail end of the Ibanez heydays) with Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. This was my first good guitar.
Maton EM325C acoustic
Peavey Classic 30. Stock. This replaced a Musicman RD112 65 watter which was ordinary sounding at low volume.
Fender American Deluxe Strat (HSS), purchased in 03 from GC on Sunset Boulevard ... I could not believe how cheap and abundant gear was compared to Aussie prices!
Fulltone Clyde Deluxe ... purchased from West LA music ... again, half the price of the same item in Sydney
PODxt Live ... a 40th birthday gift from my wife which coincided with me needing a silent (baby friendly) home playing option, with a load of sonic possibilities thrown in.
Suhr Classic (HSS) ordered and delivered this yearMostly I'm a home player with delusions of being in a regular band. I've performed live 4 times with a full band courtesy of Hive Live, a music tuition and performance workshop in Sydney. That has involved many rehearsals, which to be honest, I enjoy more than the live performances ... lots of laughs and spontaneous jamming thrown in with the tunes we're s'posed to be doing.
Like many people here, gear is a source of fascination and generator of sometimes fickle desire. Currently hankering after a new amp. Nothing wrong with the Classic 30 at all ... just would like to experience a wider range of playing experiences whilst on this mortal coil. I'm seriously thinking Orange at the moment. Had a blast on an AD30TC last week. Very nice indeed. Very impressed with Rockerverb 50 too.
Current musical favs:
Robben Ford
Guthrie Govan
Matt Schofield (my current fav album [Ear to the Ground] and guitar tone)
Joe Bonamassa
SRV
Keb MoThat's me for now ...
