I've been trying to tweak my stuff and I think the above combo would work-I'm speaking for guitar now-
I used to run a 2 X15" and a Vox AC 15-years ago-
I'd be powering this with a !00 Watt head-which at the moment I'm running into just a Marshall 4 X 12" with V30s-and I'd like more boom with out getting a 2 X 15" cab-
so back to the question: Just a tight 1 X 15" and a 2 X 12" on top of that-
any thoughts or experiences?
also-any recommendations for cab makers on the cheaper but awesome side?
as always, sincere thanks

Not 2x12s but I have run my 1x15" Delta Blues amp with a 2x10" extension cab. It sounds awesome! Very full and balanced sound. So much so that when I run the amp alone, and it sounds very good this way BTW, it always sounds tons smaller.

ive gotten more boom by taking out a bottom speaker from a marshall cab and running 2 16 ohm and one 8 ohm speaker...kinda like a bass port.
or i'll run a 4x12 or 2x12 with an old sunn folded 18"...that gets pretty deep.
im sure electric amps would make you a 2x12/1x15 cab...

In the 80s, I used to run a Boogie MKIIC+, single EVM 12" combo with a Thiel ported cabinet with an EVM 15" speaker. It really thickened up the sound. I found that I much preferred multiple speaker cabs and larger speaker cabs much better than any single small box cab. Small cab equals small sound in my book.

A 4x12 and a 2x15...I definitely love a combination of 12's and 15's, it's a really full combination. I think this is a combination I'll stick with for quite awhile, I've already been using it for the last 4 years or so.

Back in the mid 80's I used a Musicman RD-110 combo through a Musicman 1-15" and 2-12" cabs. I liked the blend of the two a lot.

In the 80 s i played through a 15 ev guitar speaker and got good clean and dirty sounds. It was stolen in nyc by Chard Haines at michael breckers club 7th ave s. He also stole Jacos bass of doom and several other guitars and amps of mine. What greed, did karma ever kick in?? Prabably not.

Randall makes a 2x12" 1x15" cab. I think Dime may have used a few along with his 4x12's. Looks pretty cool.

I used to run just the opposite: 210 Delta Blues (with Weber speakers) with a Peavey Classic cabinet with 1 15" speaker (with a Weber California 15) -- sounded huge.

I actually hadn't thought of one cab with 2 X12 a 1X 15
i wonder if it'd be worth buy the Randall for the cab itself and replacing the speakers if necessary?
anyone use Emperor cabs here?
they seem like real beauts
thanks for the ideas

I would think mismatched speakers like that would make getting a good sound from the PA more difficult.
