I have a 60's Ampeg B15 that I really like. I don't believe the speaker is original. Thinking of trying a different speaker in it. any suggestions out there of current production 15's for this type of amp?
thanks in advance
btw I am a mainly a guitar player that does a few gigs/sessions on bass but this amp will be really only for recording. I am not trying to increase headroom...

My favourite bass amp for recording. :dude
I remember a while back someone mentioning a good replacement for the original cts square mag speaker that came with it was a eminence legend, 300w 8ohm. Looking at eminence site, they have the legend cb15. I wouldn't know for sure as I have never tried one. Got an old jbl e140m in mine from the 70's.

Emi Delta 15a, Delta Pro 15a or Kappa Pro 15a. Maybe one of their new neo mag speakers. Basically, just look at the frequency response and you'll want something that goes to 4 or 5 kHz.
I have an old EV in mine that I really like. Tried old Altec and JBL speakers and prefer the EV.
