Hi folks,
Got your site from a friend of mine who's been into music production for some time. I'm also into music production so I thought it was high time I introduced myself.
I've been on the road for three years with a combination custom and cover band. Got off and started building a studio for production stuff.
Guitar Gear:

Mac-based Studio
3 Mac G5s (Logic DAW, two sample-based slaves)
JBL LSR 4326 Monitors
StudioLogic SL-880 Keyboard Controller
Korg padKONTROL
Focusrite Liquid Mix
TC Powercore w/MD3, VSS3
379 assorted Virtual Instruments & Soft Synths

Excellent! I think we have some other members here from CR as well. Also a bunch of guys over at Hugh Racks, Inc. in your area.

Hi all! Nice meeting some gear heads for a change, and in my general neighborhood no less! Got the skinny on this place from some of the guys at the axe-fx and warmoth. Hey Lafayette, yeah, that would be cool. Do you have your own project studio? And Ken - yeah I used to live in South Carolina too for a short time.

I have been working on building up a small project studio, but it's not much to really talk about. i'm slowly working on building up something nice, but for now a few mics a digital interface and some decent gear is about all i've got.

Heck nowadays that's just what you need. For more we now can just get virtual plug-ins for the sequencer and off we go. A lot of my buds on the pro circuit are using the UAD or Powercore card for some really nice quality plugs for choice audio processing - although you can get some of them in the native format too (Sonnox comes to mind).
Great forum btw!

I'm about to move to Denver from Richmond, VA and potentially going back to school for music there next fall. Four years wasn't enough.
Any good job hookups? :D

For studio work, nowadays a lot of the jobs are online. The key is getting proficient in working in the sequencer of your choice and make your own production stuff.
With all the virtual instruments that are out there (drums, bass, keys, synths, orchestral stuff etc) and a lot of the studio toys available (Waves Native, TC Powercore, UAD, Focusrite Liquid Mix etc) you have enough to compete. Getting good at making wave and aiff files that a client needs to drop into their own sequence as well as making your own high quality mp3s and hosting them on your own website really shows you're prepared. (This is also important if you're wanting to audition for some bands - savvy members can go to your website and check out your stuff - saves a LOT of time really).
The other thing is not only in one's playing but also tone and ability to nail different styles. Good luck!

We just had one!

I think we'll need to expand it next time and turn it into an amp show if everyone wants to attend. We had so much stuff we couldn't get through it all in a day.
