Mucho thanks to ACFIXER for another great TGP transaction!
Made in the USA in 2000. Amazing shape for 7 years old. Have it tuned B-E-A-D-F# so I can picture the fretboard like a guitar missing the high E string. I am absolutely floored that this came out of Meridian Mississippi! Didn't think Peavey had it in them.

Peavey has made some killer basses for years especially considering the prices. The Cirrus gets some pretty high praise from a lot of members over at TalkBass. I really dig 'em too even though I tend to like passive electronics on basses. The Cirrus pickups & preamp are very nice an sound fantastic. As a slightly cheaper option I may one day try to scoop up a G-bass. Basically a graphite necked Millennium with Cirrus electronics. A one-pickup model in the holoflake finish to match my CS Strat would do the trick. :D
Congrats on the great score! Killer looking bass.

I am thrilled you like it Don, that bass deserved to be in more capable hands than my own that's for sure. Like you said, I never really felt Peavey had that level of gear in their lineup. Usually (like most people I suppose) when we think of Peavey we think of PA's and amps that are dependable but pretty average. The craftsmanship and everything else about the Cirrus's are just way above, far out performing anything else at that price level that I have seen anyway.
Now get down with your funky self, send along some sound clips when you get your project rolling.
And by the way folks, anybody considering doing biz with Donnie B. need not fear. Honesty and integrity all the way. Thanks again Don. :AOK

Will do. Hopefully this weekend. I am really glad you dig the LP. She's a looker that also sounds great.
P.S. Thanks again for the T. It was a bit too big for me but my wife sure looked sexy as hell wearing it (and not much anything else) last night!

Nice looking bass. I just picked up a Grind B-stock "butcher-block" 6-string bass a few months ago, and I agree: Peavey is on the ball when it comes to basses.
Never played a Cirrus bass, but like others, have heard a lot of good things about them. My grind bass is probably the best bass I've ever owned.

Just my opinion, would be simpler for you to forget you're a guitarist and use regular bass tuning, unless you need to tweak it for some songs with your band.

A friend has a maple 5 and a walnut 6. Both are very nice instruments (I think he plays his 59 P just so it won't feel abandoned). The maple has more growl, and would be my pick for most music, but the walnut has it's place as well.
