Has anyone had any bad experience with Fender Texas Special strat pickups?

The middle pickup keeps going out. I have resoldered the switch several times and even resoldered the pickup leads where they connect to the actual pickup.

But still....it keeps going out!!

sounds like somethings grounding out, if the body routes are shielded, make sure nothing is hitting, or close to hitting shielding. since it's just the middle pickup I'd check that position on the 5 way first, then check the leads on that pickup.

I have the same problem with a strat that I put TS pups in! Only the neck and bridge work. When I took off the pickgaurd and tapped on all the pups they made noise but as soon as I lay it flat to screw it back in, only the neck and bridge make noise when tapping on them. I put that strat aside until I feel like messing with it again.

my only bad experience is that they are way too high output.
