So I just got this box 2 weeks ago and haven't really had the chance to mess with it until today. It's a great looking unit and sounds great when it's on, but I've got 2 problems with it:
1. When I turn on the bypass switch on and off, there's a slight pop that occurs. I've tried using each of the bypass modes and it still will not seamlessly switch between bypass and effect on modes. Very annoying. Plus, when I step on the left switch for the effect, I get a pitch shift that just does not sound right at all. Does anyone know what is going on?
2. I bought the Axess electronics MFC5 MIDI footcontroller and it's just not connecting to the eventide at all. I'm using the learn modes and manual and there is no connection whatsoever. I wanted to use the Axess for bank up/down and selecting presets in the banks. I'm using a standard 5 pin cable and I just don't understand what is going on. Help?
Thanks for the comments!!

I just got mine back. I had the shield installed. Some of the best customer service I've experienced. Give them a call.

what exactly did they do to it, and how long did it take? I got 2 earlier models...and I'd like to get the work done if it'd make a difference.
I have similar bypass issue. They say it will be addressed in the soon to be released OS update.
I don't have an Axess, but I'm using a Boss/Roland expression pedal and midi clock synching to a Boss RC-50. Have you gone into the utility/system mode of the TF and selected the appropriate channels for sending and recieving MIDI?

Oh, great. I hope the new software will solve it b/c for the moment the pedal isn't useable live.
As for the MIDI thing, I have gone into the setup and tried following the directions in the book. I guess I don't understand how this MIDI thing works. I don't know what channels are associated with which buttons and how to assign the functions to the buttons. Very confusing. The Axess has two program modes and 8 cc's but I can't get a grasp of what they do.
Assign both units the same midi send and receive channel(s) for starters. After that, you program the Axess to send the control or program change you want to the TF. Took me a year to understand this. This pretty much exhausts my MIDI know-how.
I get my best results by reading both units manuels sections on MIDI, then leaving them open side by side, then follow the directions one step at a time with the appropriate pedal before going to the next. Pain in the axxss but awsome once set up correctly. I'm getting around the bypass issue by using an expression pedal to modulate or crossfade between TF and OD. As I bring pedal down (toe down) TF mixed into clean, or OD, etc. Never need bypass because use the pedal to control blend of various effects on the fly based on the saved presets.

I overnighted mine and got it back in two days. The new updates should be available in two weeks.

I recently bought a time factor and it is a brilliant sounding unit. With the use of an expression pedal and auxilliary switch it is unbelievably flexible.
I do hear a very faint switching sound when changing patches - but no more than some other pedals I own ( true bybass switches for instance ) or the line 6 DL4 this kicked off my board.
And I only hear the faint pops when practicing alone. At gigs friday and saturday in a live band situation the switching sounds were inaudible. I could not hear them in a live situation.
So IMHO it is very usable live.
I have mine in the effects loop of a BUDDA amp by the way. Perhaps that lessens any popping ? I also think the " DSP " bypass setting sounds the best with my rig anyway. I think the " true bypass " setting may pop a bit more.

Would anyone mind explaining how they setup their midi footswitches?

please let us all know when these noise issues get solved. I want one.
The MIDI issues you have I THINK I could figure out if i had both units in front of me with the instructions. But I can't help you here...sorry

Someone told me that the noise issues were only really for people running the pedal in front of an amp... true?
My buddy runs his in his FX loop of his amp, and has ZERO noise issues...

I have been touring with my eventide since December and run it in front of the amp and have not experienced anything major. I previously ran a fx loop (trem, delays, reverb, chorus) but another guitar player encouraged me not to since i run my Vox clean, using my pedals to overdrive my amp.
The only issue I have faced is pitch shifting when i change tempo while ringing out a note. Is there a way to prevent this? I don't recall my DD5's doing this to the degree i hear from my eventide.

I am running my Vox ac30 cc2x clean is there a reason I should not use the Fx loop? I am using a distortion pedal from the pedal board into the input and then using Delays and verbs and such in the loop. is there some thing wrong with this when running the amp clean?
