Ok so I'm building up my recording gear and have a good start. Cubase SX3, Yamaha MG16/6FX, MXL 990, MXL 991, SM58, SM57, SMBeta52, and Lamda Lexicon inerface. I just order some decent headphone monitors and I am thinking about trying to use my SRM450s and 1 SWS 1501...... lol Anyone tried using stage monitors to tie you over till you bought some good recording monitors?

I'd go with headphones until you get your studio monitors.

I agree stage monitors dont really allow you to mix and the headphones are the best for starting.
As a cheaper quick start why not get some decent small PC type speakers to start with, the edirol and the yamaha ones will give you a reasonable start and you can then always use them as alt small monitors when you can afford the studio reference monitors.
