I thought I would post this here and see if anyone has had a similar issue.
I recently rewired a Marshall Footswitch (DSL401, 2 button) for a friend and we are having issues with it. The strange thing is that it works perfect for my amp (RV50) but shorts or cuts out part of his signal on the Marshall.
I replaced the 2 footswitches, upgraded the led's to 5mm red and amber and installed a TRS 1/4" jack so that he could use detachable stereo cables of varying lengths. I wired it up right, exactly the way it was stock, and like I mentioned, it seems to work fine with my own amp. He has a backup fs that works fine, but this one definitely cuts volume immediately when plugged in.
My question is how in the world can a fs do this to your signal when your signal isn't passing through so nothing should be getting shorted out right?? We also tried other cables and they all did this so it has to be the fs itself. Any clues what might be causing this?
