What is a 12AX7 B. I have never seen or heard of a B. It is made in China BTW.

brianf...never heard of 12AX7 with "B" suffix...the "A" suffix was the sprial-wound filament for reduced noise.

Well Sovtek came up with a bunch of suffixes that dont mean much from what I can tell too-except to them for slight differences like 12AX7WA ,12AX7WB,12AX7WC and 12AX7LPS(this one I know-long plate spiral filament I believe)12AX7WXT+ Bob

Im not sure but I believe I read that the china 12ax7B is the same tube rebranded by GT 12ax7m and also rebranded by Ruby.
Someone said to go that route if they didnt want to pay the GT prices.
Maybe one of the tube dealers here on the forum can elaborate.
