EarthQuaker Devices Disaster Transport (http://earthquakerdevices.com/devices/Disastertransport.html)

Someone had posted a short bit of info about this a long while back. I just wanted to let people know that it now has it's own page of info and they are shipping. The clips sound very nice.

armoredfist316,

Did you receive yours yet? If so, how do you like it?

I absolutely love it so far. The modulation controls are very sensative and it has some really cool sounds that aren't like anything else. I want to play with it for a while before i write a review but its not going anywhere. Its definately one of the better gear purchases ive made. And it looks wonderful. Here is some eye candy:

Interesting sounding modulation.

Might I add that Earthquaker has the most aesthetically pleasing designs on the market these days.

I'd love to get one of these delays. It's gonna be a while though.

I wonder if he would do an expression pedal mod for the modulation?

Shit. First I crave the Hoof for my Muff fix, then the Hummingbird and now this!

I LOVE my Hoof. And my Disaster Transport should be here tomorrow or Saturday ... along with my Royal Drive! Should be a fun holiday weekend.

Is the Royal Drive back? I received my Disaster Transport yesterday and recorded some clips this morning. Some of them feature the Hoof. All with a G&L Legacy, clean Cielo and a 4-12 with Emi Wizards.

It is a PT2399-based delay, so it is digital. The repeats are warm, girthy, mirky at times, and have the ability to be very loud, overtaking the original signal. I think the newer units have a speed switch for the modulation to go from slow to fast. I sped mine up quite a lot from the stock unit.

The clips above in a flash player for easy playing:

With the NOC3 Firefly (my fast modulation mod clips at the bottom):

Here it is in the pedal level loop of a Cielo powerscaled to 1w:

This isn't a typical delay, but there are a lot of good tones to be had. I particularly like the fast modulation sounds and slap backs that are slightly louder than the dry signal.

Thanks for the great demos! I'm definitely getting this.

good pedal. i had one and let it go. the repeats just were too distorted and that bothered me when playing with loud echoes. I preferred how the DMM "melted" in the repeats, where as the disaster transport "exploded" with repeats.

I have one and love it. I would agree it’s a very analogish delay. At times it reminds me a bit of my Deluxe Memory Man. Highly recommended!

Can someone fix the spelling for the name of this thread? Transpot?!

It doesn't show up in searches...

it's a great delay - the modulation on it is very useful and it can get dirty analogish sounding and crazier...the delay time isn't as long as the Echobox or most other digital delays. You can make it oscillate and keep the mix level to give you background ambient/pad sounds...I really like the modulation on this pedal you can get some useful sounds out of the modulated delays

for some reason some of the sounds with heavy modulation reminds of 16 Horsepower

I received one a few days ago. It is definitely a unique beast.

There is a lot of cool sounds to be had. The modulation allows you to create some very wild sounds...I like it best with the rate and depth dialed back, very Tape Echo-ish.

Hard to believe it's digital...

Kudos to Earthquaker Devices! :wave

Can anyone comment on how the oscillation compares with EH DMM? I love how bassy and "exploding-ish" the oscillation is on the DMM. My other delays don't have the great oscillation and it sounds like the EQD DT might be able to do it. But, it is digital, so... help?
