I like that stuff at the head a bunch too- I like mixing up things against the "D" pedal- some stuff with a b2, major 3rd, sharp 5th and Dom 7- (5th mode harmonic minor?) and then then minor 3rd with a major 7th and then a major, some blues. Very fun to be harmonically open... then a little home on the range.
