While I haven't tried an Emplexador through Golds (and boy would I like to!) I have played my plexi clones through Golds. You may find best results by mixing Golds with other speakers - I really like one Gold and one G12H. My Golds are still relatively new, so the results may be better with time, but I found two golds on their own a bit too much of a good thing. The top end was kinda too pronounced. But the mix is just great.
I also have a single Gold in a 5E3 and it just sounds amazing - I even like it there more than a Blue. Whatever the application I doubt you will be disappointed with the Golds!

i just put one in my ac30 to pair with a celestion g12 heritage, the greenback one, the gold, even new, had so much more clarity than the heritage but was still bit stiff. cant wait till they loosen up.
used to have stock wharfedale speakers in there which were good, so i thought, but the difference is like night and day!
so im really digging the gold!

Sir! Present and accounted for - sir! I have a Gold in an oversized 1-12 semi-open Ken's Cab and that's my main use it everywhere for everything cab. The EmplexII sounds mighty fine, mighty fine through it, both clean and grindy. The big cab gives it enough body you don't have to worry about whether it might be too bright.

Sweet! Planning a rig to compliment my Royal Albert 1/4 stack. Running that through Scholz Sugarcones...want to do something different with the Emplexador II.
Thanks for the feedback, gents! :BEER

I'm using a Gold in combination with a G12h30 in a Port City OS 2x12 cab and it's sounds great.
I expect it to sound even better after the gold is broken in.
Really opens things up.
In modern mode you'll find you have to really lower the treble and presence quite a bit to tame her.
