Looking for a archtop/flat hollow box in the $1500-$2500 range. Don't need OTT inlay work or aged exotic woods, just a nice, solid (well not really) jazz guitar.
Any suggestions?

Heritage makes some super stuff in that range. Gibsonesque, obviously.

+1 to Eastman, if you're looking for a carved solid wood archtop and floating pickup. There's not much competition in that department and they have some very nice axes.... If you're going set-in pickups, laminate wood, the field opens up quite a bit. i think even benedetto has something in that price range.

Koll makes my dream archtop... But definitely not for $2500!

I loved my Gretsch with D'Armond single coils... Beautiful warm, buttery tones from the neck PU. You can still find the old original Streamliners for a reasonable price. But then I've heard great things about the new ones too.

Sorry Wish... but... blahahahaha. No way, uhn-uhn, not-gona-doit!:rotflmao

His basses and guitars might actually be functional and are definately different but... no way am I gonna play Wish.

Anybody else think the bass on front page looks like a can-opener?

Another vote for Heritages. The H575 is killer for the price.

I have a Hofner Jazzica that takes a fresh approach to that style, I really like it & it's right in your price range.

Yamaha, Ibanez, Aria made and still make top quality archtops - used ones go from ca. 700 to 1800 : Gibson type models mostly, with built in pickups and floaters, too. you should be more specific : will you play it on stage, with heavy or light strings, in a big band/small combo - it all makes a difference. tell us more if you will.
