Hi all.

I am about to put together a small portable rack for my portable studio. It needs to be 6 (maybe 8) to accomodate a power supply, a 3 space Purple Audio sweet 10, and my 003.

Would you mind showing me the newest designs? I need safe, light and practical. Bags? Case?

Thanks!

S.

Stay away from the molded plastic ones, like SKB.

An 8-space rack is gonna be pretty heavy any way you look at it, I'd just bite the bullet and go for a used Anvil or other ATA-style case. Then you know your gear will be protected. You can get 'em fo about the same price as a new SKB.

If portability is a concern, you might want to look at two 4-spacers and split the gear between 'em. Have your computer I/O and maybe a headphone amp in one and mic pres and processing in another. Put a nice patchbay in each one and it would be a lot more convenient to lug around.

Thanks, although I think two 4 spaces would be too cumbersome. I am definitely thinking 6 space should suit what I need, btw.

Thanks!
