Hey guys,

Here is a quick bathrobe take (lol) on Skip's tasty blues ballad backing. G1265 closemiced with an SM57. I used Waves IR Convolution Reverb on it. The guitar plate. I used to use this plugin all the time, but have not for a couple of years. It blows away what I had been using recently, no?? Me likey this....

Very lovely seductive blues tone Scott. I could see hearing something like this at a fancy uptown blues bar on a Saturday night in NY or LA. You got it going on with this take. Top notch take as usual.:)

Scott-

Sounds just great and toneful as usual. Just the right amount of 'verb (on the git, at least - drums are pretty wet). Wondering if you ever played around with the SIR convolution freeware - I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it over the years.

If so, how does it satnd up to the snazzy Waves version?

Oh yes, another georgeous take! and Yep I agree the verb on that was the business.

57 for what ever reason always sounds great to my ears on cuts.

I really dig this laid back open spacey playing approach. Beautifully developed ideas. monsta

This is really good I think what Carlos just said "Calmly Intense" is spot on and the sound is you and the playing is your sound (if that makes any sense) ......love it

Love it though I'm not hearing much reverb at all. It'd be interested to alternate it in and out but really, the playing speaks for itself, reverb or not.

GREAT sounding, natural 'verb......and just the right amount.

Of course, the playing doesn't suck much, either!

He's using an appropriate amount, imo. If he took it away, it would immediately be noticeable.

Some of the best playing I have heard from you. Just beautiful. Agree with Zucker, it needs more verb.

Nice playing, really great.

Which amp was this?

Was the impulse used only for ambient effects?

I am surprised by all the playing compliments... It was just a rough improvisation after listening through for the changes. Thanks!

Scott,

http://mixi.jp/

mixi is very popular social website. I link your mp3/web there.
Hope you don't mind. Great way to show your talent to Japanese
audience. They love gears too.

Actually, there are a few "effects" or amp by brand community page (look like it''s own disscussion site)
It's really cool site. Invitation only.

Yes, let's hang at NAMM.

I just did this remix with a different Waves Verb type. Is it better?

If it is, just replace the link you posted, or I'll delete and replace in my sites hyperlink.

You're welcome Scott. This version is great too. I think I like the first one ... very subtle reverb, very raw..

Which one do you like?

I've been listening to both takes over and over. And to be honest, I have to agree with Tomo on this one. I like the first one better. The second one has some echo in there that I'm not real fond of. Actually, it has both good and bad qualities to it. Maybe somewhere in between the first and second??

However, love the playing!

Haha! Finally! Most definitely, yes! I plan to go thur, fri and sat... give me a ring when your come in.

Your recordings are so clean... it's like you're there in the room next to the amp. And, of course, it doesn't hurt to have your chops!!

Thanks D! We on at NAMM, no?? Finally!!

That was very sweet Scott. I loved the way you held the note and let it sustain. The beginning could have almost been some jazzy sax lines. Awsome tone and nice laid back take. This was really different for you to lay back like this. You should try this more often . ;)

Amazing. Combining soulfulness with techincal proficiency. Wish I could play 1/2 that well.

Nice job.

Edited to add: I liked both takes. The first will appeal to guitarists who marvel at the unprocessed sound. The second will appeal to everyone. Sounds like a movie soundtrack and I mean that in a complimentary kind of way. Just great, inspiring work.
