Hey guys,
i just ordered a freda 1x12 ported cab for my two rock emerald pro. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good 12inch speaker for the cab. Im going for a robben ford, scott lerner type tone. Also enjoy eric johnson. Any help i would more than appreciate. thank you

ps I use a 81 ibanez as200, and a american strat with the setup and like to use some effects if that helps

Hey Shawn. In a closed back ported cab, the Heritage 12-65 should be great. I heard one in a similar cab this weekend.
The 12-65 is what Robben and Scottl favor, and as you know, I have 2 older ones.
I also compared my 12-65 with a RWB side by side in similar cabinets. The RWB is a fine speaker, but prefers an open back combo. The 12-65 was (imo) far better. The bass on the RWB seemed a little flubby, while the 12-65 was firm and balanced across the spectrum.
That Emerald Pro has plenty of bass. In the ported cab, I had to turn the bass down.

Heritage G12-65, you're done! Don't beat it out any longer, take our advice.
Yep, exactly what he said.

EVM 12L is another to consider, sounds great in a 1x12. The g12-65's are great as mentioned, but in a 1x12 application mine cone cried rather quickly. Both are great speakers, you should be happy w/ either.
My E.Pro sounded KILLER with 1/12 Musicman cab and EV speaker. I am not a fan of the G65s at all.
