After seeing Shovelheads custom cab it got me thinking. Anyone ever remove their tolex from their amp and refinish the wood?

I bought a Fender Bassman bottom at a garage sale. The thing was so moldy that I stripped all the tolex off. I never refinished it but as it's solid pine, it would be pretty easy to do.
I don't recall how I took the tolex off but I do remember that it took a few hours.

It just pulls off. A pair of pliers might help, or a scraper. But your cab, depending on the maker and the year it was made, could have plywood or particle board under the tolex.

I've used a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the glue, and the tolex has pulled off pretty easily.
