Anyone ever tried bi-amping a guitar rig. I don't mean going full range, just separating the lows and highs. Sounds good in theory. The back of my boogie 4x12 has inputs labelled stereo or bi-amp.

I have a Rivera Knucklehead Reverb with a Rivera Sub 1 and it sounds huge. The Sub 1 (Los Lowbottom) works with any amp, but its been discontinued. You can still find them on eBay at times.

I'm not sure there's enough tonal range in the guitar spectrum to literally bi-amp. But I have mixed a Fender combo with a darker sounding combo, by jumpering the amps at the input jacks. Kind of a po' boy bi-amp.

I like a stereo rig better.

Sounds like what I am doing on my stereo 36 watt SE build. It has two pre-amp channels, two separate tone stacks. The treble channel drives an EL-34 into a Hammond 125ESE, and the bass channel drives a KT-88 into a 125GSE.

---------I think there is. Separating the lows seems easy enough. Not sure where to crossover, thats part is wher I stand to burn alot of time dialing to really have an objective reference. The differnce in clarity and articulation between a bi-amped monitor and the three way foh speakers.
I like a stereo rig better.
--------------I like one as well. If I like it biamp-ed I could do a biamped center dry in a three way................

I have custom SE power amp el 34-l, 6l6 r, 6v6 foldback center. Those also use hammond transdformers. Rob Franklin made it for me. The other stereo pwer I have is gt dual 75, which would let me use higher powered tubes for the bass. I was thinking kt-88 or 6550. I would also use closed backs for the low end and opens or both for the highs. The other power section in my rig is from a two rock opal thats a part of the rack
