hey all,
I'm kieran! i'm from a little place in Ireland called Killarney which is down in the south west in Co. Kerry.
I've been reading these forums for a few years now and basically learned everything i know about amps and effects from these threads, so thanks alot for everything!
I decided it was about time i started posting stuff so here i am :)
I Play a variety of music, the main band are called Onora and it's very much Contemporary Irish, so there's a lot of acoustic stuff but also a good bit of electric work. Also do a bit bit another band for some fun which is mainly covers and thats all electric stuff
Anyway sorry for boring all of ye with those details!!!
Just Saying Hi :)

Are there any soundclips on the net somewhere of your band Onora?

Thanks for the welcome guys, really appreciate it.
Hey lads from galway, any good gear shops around your area, looking to try a few orange amps but can't find anywhere thats actually doing them, tried everywhere in kerry, cork city and dublin and no sign anywhere, any help would be great

Are there any soundclips on the net somewhere of your band Onora?

Hey Han, no soundclips up yet, we're in the process of recording so their should be some soundclips up in the next two months hopefully

Hello Kieran and welcome to TGP. I love visiting Ireland and hope to get to Killarney on my next visit. I must be one of the very few that hasn't visited there during my three trips to Ireland. I'm sure others who actually live there can help but I walked around Galway and Cork City a few times and just found 1 shop in Galway City that only had beginner level gear (Squire and that sort).

I wish more people from the west of Ireland would contribute on TGP. One of my favorite places in the world. If a could live in Kinsale with my boat and a nice house I would be a happy man!

Great to have you. I'm in California, a little city called Temecula, and we have an Irish pub called Killarney's. I'm not really sure what that means or how that information helps anyone, but.....hehe :BEER

Good to have you here!

hey Hamstrat,
You definitley gotta come to Killarney on your next trip over here man, it's such a nice place, the people are great and the scenery is beautiful!!! it's well worth the trip down, if u're over again and are thinking of popping down to killarney gimmie a PM and i'll give u a tour of all the best pubs!!!
As for guitar shops in Ireland, most of them are as you described, beginner level gear, it's such a shame and makes buying decent gear fairly hard, especially if u wanna try out stuff before buying.

Hey Kieran,

Welcome. My Great-Grand Parents are from Westport, Mayo and Strokestown, Roscommon. One of these days I'll get over there to see "the Homeland".

I was just teaching and lecturing in Galway this past November.....beautiful! Stayed right on the bay. An amazing city and the Guinness is better there!

Welcome Kieran. I stayed in Killarney about 15 years ago. My company flew us over, put us up for a week, and we did a lot of sightseeing. At the time, they had a factory in Cork. We had a great time. Got to kiss the Blarney Stone, took a train ride to Dublin, and generally had a wonderful time in your beautiful country.

Ireland is just about first on the list for my wife and I when we finally get to go over to Europe. I can't wait, but I guess I will have to..ha.

Welcome! Look forward to seeing you around here as time goes by!
