My 3rd (or 4th?) Blackbox Quicksilver coming tomorrow ...
I played one at Truetone Music the other day and don't know why I ever sold them all!
The showdown between my original 70's Deluxe Memory Man and the Quicksilver will immense at approximately 1 p.m.
Will post a picture of the victor standing tall on my pedalboard tomorrow evening.
I got a good deal on mine recently so I went for it.
The field is thick with great delays that do different things, well,, or maybe
better than others, depending on the application.
I really like mine, but I certainly haven't tried most of the latest and
greatest touted, here(tho' I'd like to ..).

i've tried everything ... eventide, line 6, boss, TC, diamond, EHX, Malekko, Maxon, Ibanez ... vintage ... analog ... digital.
there has always been standouts for me ... the quicksilver and my DMM are def on the top of the list for the way i use delay.
Cool, , hey, my 1st post read kinda weird, I think.
I was trying to say I really dig the Blackbox whether or not there are
better delays out there.
I like the f/x loop feature, especially .

How does the Quicksilver compare and contrast to the EH DMM?

i'll let you know tomorrow :)
i've got a VERY VERY good handle on what the DMM can do ... im gonna try and get all the sounds out of the quicksilver as well.

I'd love clips, you don't run across audio samples of it often enough.

cool.
I had a QS for a while as my main delay. Awsome pedal.
I liked how you could switch between the channels so easily, BUT disliked how there was no tap-tempo. You'd think with ALL the features of the QS that he could of added tap-tempo. That would of made it teh wickedest delay pedal, IMO. maybe.
As for stuff in the FX loop... One time I tried putting a MuRF in the loop and shit got crazy, man. Also, if you're able to, try putting a filter of some sort into the loop and/or a wah pedal... You'll have to rock the wah back and forth almost non, stop though... hence my prefrence of a filter (auto filter is better). Lastly, I've heard people say that w/ a comp it sounds killing, but I haven't tried so.
I might get one again in the future. Cool pedal, fo sho. Enjoy it ;)

Its strange ya know...im waiting for my Cornish TES and in need of a good delay. Tried the TC, ML and Replica and never bonded with them and now toying with thoughts of the QS or Eventide. Totally different beasts i know...
Does anyone have any clips at all? That's the only thing stopping me pulling the trigger...$475 is a lot of coin on a delay that i've never heard... :D

i would NEVER pay 475 for it. but 275 in the emporium is well worth it for me.

i'll try recording some comparison vids for youtube.

Sweet, that would be much appreciated :D Yeah...im thinking a regular sweep of the emporium may be in order. Strange that there's no clips on the website though.

Don't know why Lorren's stuff flies way under the radar here at TGP - His pedal designs are really unique.
I picked up an UltraViolentII for next to nothing on a road trip last year. Imagine a silicon fuzz running thru' 4 cocked wah pedals:crazyguy:D:RoCkIn...not for everyone, but tres, tres cool!
what have you used in the FX loop? :drool
so far :
-Boss FT-2 Dynamic filter,
-Yamaha flanger,
-another delay(Ibanez DML10 set for heavy sloooow modulation)
I tried the a Ross style comp(HBE) but didn't get the tape delay effect,
or, if I did, I couldn't tell.
Hmmm, I just got an idea to try my Zoom Ultra Fuzz w/ the gate knob
turned up :worried:worried

$475?! That's crazy man... I paid $350 BRAND NEW for mine from Musictoyz last year... I would NOT pay $475 for it, either. It's just too much for what it is, IMO.
I don't guess many people pay $475 for one ..
I hope I'm right .

interested to see these results. I really like my TC electronics Vintage delay. I don't think its going anywhere, as it just fits for what I use delay for. If anything I'll get one of those Analogman ones to get the analog on my board.
FWIW, I owned the QS, it wasn't for me.

Quicksilver is digital, but analog-voiced, right? Anyone know what chip he's using?

Whoohoo Thanks!! Sounds Awesome!!! :AOK
Tough call...I like the tone and simplicity of the DMM, but the QS sounds terrific. I don't hear any of the noise and hiss that others have complained about with it.

honestly ... i think the DMM sounds better up to about 400 MS ... then the quicksilver takes over. The DMM handles dirt better. Sounds amazing. The DMM also has less idle noise.
you can't hear it in the video ... but the quicksilver does have some hiss ... but honestly ... i don't care ...

btw ... the quicksilver sounds better in the vid ... but i think the DMM wins in person.

63 gibson falcon. sounds like poo in the video :(. i think the amp was just too loud for my computer mic.
My 64 Falcon is at my apartment in Boston ... sounds way better I think.

Is your DMM a reissue? TB or not?? Im giving the Malekko some consideration now too...lol Will it ever end!!!

Damn... I know it's just a crappy YouTube vid and all, but I think the DMM sounds a lot better.

it's an original from the late 70's ... not true-bypass ... yet ;)
malekko is great ... but not anywhere near as versatile. the DMM also gives the best slap back tone I've ever heard.

I've watched the vid a few times now and definatley prefer the DMM too...the QS is not bad at all though. Certianly nice to have the option of either at any given time.

Guess I'm in the minority because I prefer the QS to the DMM. Just how much hiss are we talking about with the QS? I sold my DD-20 because of the hiss (in smooth mode) and love the tone of the QS but not sure I could handle the hiss. Admittedly I'm damn picky about hiss.

Re: Quicksilver. Can you get any cool effects with an expression pedal other than simply varying the delay time?
