5Y3 in Maz Jr.

Would a 5Y3 work in Maz Jr to bring the volume down a little?
Or would the current demands be too great? the Carmen Ghia uses a 5Y3 and is a little less loud, I don't know if there are different B+ voltages on the two amps or not.
Would the cathode resistor for the output tubes need to be changed(it's cathode biased, right?) with a 5Y3.

Wouldn't it be easier to turn down the master volume on the Maz?
