I've got a Soldano Lucky 13 2x 12 combo that I'm wanting to turn into just a head unit. Is this possible? Can I just take the amp out of the enclosure and install it in an empty head unit . . . maybe I'm on crack so just tell me if I am, but if not could ya'll point me in the right direction in achieving this.
my back thanks you :)

Usually not a big deal. Marshalls from the '60s and '70s were actually convertibles...they used the same chassis in the heads and combo cabs... You can swap them back and forth. You could have a woodworker or cabinet maker craft a nice one, or you could do like lots of Fender owners did and just cut the bottom of the combo off and nail on a bottom panel.:D :D :D

I did this with a 2x12 Mesa Tremoverb. The combo is close to 100 lbs.
I built the cabinet myself. Converting is highly recommended.
