Hello. Can you tweak an amp that runs el84s to accept 6v6s? I'm guessing "no" since many amp makers specifically make el84 & 6v6 versions of similar design. I know el34 emps can be adjusted (usually) to also use 6550s and even 6L6s. Specifically, I'm thinking about a Budda Twinmaster. I love the sound already, but was reading a thread about NAMM and a new Budda amp using 6v6s. Got me thinking what the Twinmaster would sound like with 6v6s (if it'spossible). Thanks.

EL84 is a different size tube socket than 6v6. EL84 has 9 pins and
6v6 has 8 pins. Not sure about PTs I guess they are about the
same output.

The EL84 is a nine pin socket the same as a preamp tube and the 6v6 is an eight pin socket. The pinout is different and would require some surgery to implement. You can't go back to the eighty fours if you make the swap. You may not want to.
They also are biased differently, need different grid stoppers and screen resistors etc.
Mr Moore has put both in a single ended amp and has a pan switch to combine them or use them separately.
Trinity amps has both in an amp with a vactrol switching device to switch them in the same amp.Relays were too noisy.
