Hey All,

I've encountered a noise i can't figure out. I have a Traynor YBA-1 head that has been completely gutted and rebuilt to JMP50 specs with the addition of an internal 6-step attenuator. I run this head into a 2x12 cab with Greenbacks (G12m's) Here are my settings currently

settings on the amp: jumpered
Normal vol:3-4
Bright vol: 7
Treble: 5
Mid: 9
Bass: 2
Presence: 5
Attenuated back 3 notches... not sure how many DB that is.

and here are the sounds i've heard today:

a phased sound when i really dig into a note
a crackling sound (like a campfire)... but ONLY when playing
a MAJOR crackle... like the amp was dimed w/ no attenuation and you pulled the cord from your guitar and started touching it to metal. this happened when the amp was played unattentuated on 3, or attenuated on 5-7.the first sound's new to me. the crackling i've heard before in another amp, and it turned out to be poweramp tube and a dusty jack... but in that case, the crackle was all-the-time. and the huge crackling; very new... startled me actually.

Suggestions?
Mike
