Andy sent me his NAMM pedal board to record some samples with. Here is my first one. Baker B1 into Fuchs 30 clean channel at 1 oclock. Amp volume at 11 oclock (audio taper). Reverb is Waves IR. G1265 speaker and Audix I5. No EQ. I narrate the changes. This was all one take with me switching in real time. Lots of potential as I literally spent less than a minute dialing it in.

Sounds good but a better demo would be running this into a fender amp or direct into the board with speaker sims. i.e. how much of what we're hearing is the fuchs amp vs. the pedals?

I dunno, I switch them in and out in real time. You can hear the effects of adding the pedals.

Yes, but the amp's basic gain structure is already dumblish. For example, the other clips I've heard of those pedals don't have the same dumble vibe. It's probably also your playing because you and chuck still do the best dumblesque demos I've heard on TGP...

How's it sound through an axefx fender sim?

I wish I could answer Jack. I do know that I will be sending the pedal board to Billy Yates who will be making clips with a "regular" amp!

Love the playing Scott.

Sounds cool Scott !

Jack: Duly noted. The pedal board is heading west to Billy's for some slide and rock style files as well, done through various mainstream amps like Fenders, Marshalls etc. We anticipated that concern, and it's certainly a realistic one.

Great job Andy. These pedals are superb.... Very amp like in feel for me. The Pure Gain is going to be my first acquisition. To goose my amps front end.....

Shipments are just beginning to various existing Fuchs dealers. You can reserve a unit from any one of them if you wish.

Fuchsaudio, do you have any outlets in the U.K.?

And if not will there be in the not too distant future?

Would U.K. Members of TGP be able to import from your U.S. Dealers?
Cheers,

Sol

Awesome, I'm totally in love with the way you play and phrase, everytime I hear your stuff I wish to myself I could ditch all my rock licks and play like that.

Stellar tones as usual Scott!

Thanks so much for posting these, I love the tone when you kicked on the Valve Job, it really made the legato phrased notes melt like butter. Wonderful!

By the way what pickups are in your Baker? Did you roll off the tone knob on the guitar?

Thanks once again!

Hey Scott. Great playing as always.
I was wondering on your comparison between the pure gain and the RC booster.
Thanks
Stephan

Hey Scott. Great playing as always.
I was wondering on your comparison between the pure gain and the RC booster.
Thanks
Stephan

The pure gain is, well, just pure gain. No tone controls, to fat or grizzle, designed for lowest noise and maximum transparency. When set for '0' it's unity gain, and you actually add the gain, as you dial it up. This keep it quiet. You only produce as much gain as you need. It does a great job of bringing vintage (or low output) pickups to humbucker (or beyond) levels.

The RC and AC boosts are great units, but I think the Pure Gain is a different device.

I just replaced my Radial bigshot with the Fuchs Pure gain. It sounds so much more "alive" to my ears and feels organic. Regardless of how I would set the Radial pedal, it always felt sterile. I use the pure gain only to push my amp in the od channel a bit with my single coil guitar and occaisionally my HB equipped guitars.

I like this pedal much better than the RC. It is much quieter and doesn't add the slight grit I always hear with the RC.
