After a long series of bends, a genie appears and grants you 3 musical wishes
what would those wishes be?
Me
I'll tell you later. My genie hasn't popped out yet.
maybe I'll try some pedal steel bends.

I wish I had a better singing voice, my guitar voice is ok.
I wish I could play over tunes like Giant Steps with ease. Even though it's not my favorite style to play on.
I would like to have that ability.
I wish my improv melodies were always new and inventive and hip as hell.
The singing thing could be a problem :(
Unlimited practice time. Man, that's all I need right there. Give the rest of the wishes to charity.

Easy...
1) 'Perfect' right hand technique (including hybrid picking)...leaving me with only one hand to worry about
2) Immediate vision as to what the notes of any particular chord are on the fretboard, and a mental map of what the intervals sound like.
3) Constant inspiration, and that feeling of 'connectedness' with both the instrument, the music, and the other players.
Not too much to ask is it???
Cheers

Wish 1, the devil apairs and agree's to take my soul in exchange for all the mojo there ever was and will be.
Wish 2, the devil comes back the hour of my death and freely gives my soul back.
Wish 3, the man upstairs then forgives everything I did in between.

Sing better...a lot better.
Play piano really well...George shearing, Oscar Peterson, and Boogie Woogie style stuff
Play Fingerstyle chord melody guitar with grace and ease.
Frankly any of these would make me so happy.
ps-
I'd also love to be able to play pedal steel better.

It's ok to ask the genie for a great voice.
The genie has to obey. Live it up.

1.) Complete & commanding knowledge of every chord type, in every inversion, on every string set...
2.) the wisdom & taste to use #1 properly...
3.) Kari Byron ( indeed, not a "musical" wish, but, hey, it's my wish, right?)

A Camaro.
How about a gold '65 SS 350 with that black ring around the front. Smoking.
See you in Forestville as well as TGAMH the night before.
Looking forward to it.

1) Let me live to be 100, with sound mind and body intact
2) Let me be able to play all the way until the end.
3) When I'm done, let me come back and do it one more time.

Great answer. It's a lot more satisfying to earn something than to have it given to you - half the fun is doing the work (at least for me).
And, hey, with some luck, #1 and #2 are (roughly) achievable. And maybe #3 as well (depending on the underlying nature of the universe)...

I'm gonna try like hell to make #1 and #2 happen without the aid of a genie...#3?...well...I'm trying make this time around as rewarding as I can, just in case...

1. A much better memory- both for remembering songs and phrases as I hear them, but also for melodies, changes, and songs in general.
2. Better intuition as to what someone else is going for.
3. The ability to instantly know what someone else is playing and how to apply it to my instrument.
With that, the rest will take care of it's self. But as for a little fun daydream I wish I could sound like so-and-so thing, I'll say the ability to play block chords like McCoy, Bill Evans or even Red Garland at will.

1. To be able to effortlessly play everything I FEEL, and not have to think.
2. Every time I picked up my guitar I would get just as much joy and excitement out of it as I did when I first started playing.
3 To be independently wealthy, and my job would be to just make music, and to be able to give it all away for free.

1. Perfect technique, so I can instantly play anything that pops into my head without effort, with perfect pitch and a perfect ear
2. Perfect knowledge of music theory, in all styles and genres
3. Perfect inspiration, the ability to translate feelings, thoughts and emotions into musical ideas
This covers the Hands, the Head and the Heart.
I think #1 would be the most fun, though!

That's doesn't leave much left to work on. I don't think I'd be happy with all those gifts- just a thought...
