I have a 50 watt 1x12 combo with a long reverb tank (Accutronics) in the bottom.

A low 'G' really resonates this cabinet. So much so that the reverb tank mechanically rattles. It doesn't cause any reverb noise, but the mechanical rattle of the tank's case is very pronounced. If I lay a heavy book on the tank, that rattle goes away. There is still some resonant noise elsewhere in the cab, but may be on the edge of acceptable.

So how does one normally get rid of a rattle problem like this?

Is the reverb pan in a bag ? If not, add one. A reverb pan is cheap (less than thirty buck usually), so replacing it might be required, and is an easy fix. Check the current pan for debris and or loose springs or broken ones. Hope this helps. a

Thanks Andy. The reverb is not currently in a bag, so I'll try that route. I found that if I wedge a piece of foam between the reverb and the speaker magnet that the noise goes away as well. But the bag approach will be more elegant.
